Welcome to our newest group - Parish Librarians.  This recently launched group has participated in two meetings at local universities.  Inagural events took place at University of St. Thomas Doherty Library under the leadership of Charline Macfarlane.  This dynamic group engaged in round table discussions and enjoyed guest speakers to round out the event. 

The August 2009 event hosted by St. Mary's Seminary, included a robust agenda with guest Bea Dante presenting information to aid librarians in cataloging religious materials.  Archdiocesean Representative Brian Luense offeried information of Catholic Formation and the role that parish librarians can fulfill in providing materials and direction for study and further discussion contacts.  The meeting concluded with an informative tour of the Seminary library. 

This energetic group plans to have three gatherings per year, quite an undertaking for a new group.  With Ms. Macfarlane as their leader, they have already met many of their short term goals.  We expect so see great things from this new group of dedicated librarians.
